Honda Motor Corporation has issued a recall of 412,000 vehicles due to a "soft or low brake pedal." Consumers have reported that it takes longer and the brake pedal travels closer to the floor until the vehicle comes to a stop.
Honda has stated that the defect isn't associated with the brake pedal but with the Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) modulator that assists with braking. The problem occurs because some modulators were installed improperly, allowing air to enter the system during the self-check mode. Over time the air builds up causing the problem. Not all vehicles named in the recall are affected but Honda all recalled all the vehicles to ensure consumers are safe when driving their vehicles.
Recalled Vehicles:
2007-2008 Honda Odyssey
2007-2008 Honda Element
Consumers will be notified by Honda if their vehicle is defected and will be able to bring the recalled vehicle to a dealership to have it fixed free of charge.
